Guide to San Jose Del Cabo Beaches

The Los Cabos area has long been known as one of the most fun and relaxing beach getaway destinations. The area is split into two regions, Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Both of these incredible spots offer fun in the sun, fresh seafood, unique local crafts, and so much more. One of the main attractions in both of these spots are the unforgettable beaches, something you just can’t miss on your getaway. There is plenty of shoreline for everyone to enjoy, so you can pick a new spot every day! Read on for our guide to Cabo San Lucas beaches.

Playa Monumentos

Called “Monuments Beach” in English, this sunny spot is perfect for the experienced surfer in your group, but you don’t have to be an athlete to enjoy the clean shore and the gorgeous water. This public beach in Cabo San Lucas sits at the southwest end of the Tourist Corridor. You won’t want to miss out on the stunning sunset or the view of El Arco. The beach gets its name for the granite monuments at Land’s End, a picturesque site to complete the unbelievable landscape. There are equipment rentals on the beach, so you don’t have to worry about lugging everything with you, and there are several delectable restaurants nearby.

Playa Chileno

One of the cleanest beaches in the area, Playa Chileno in Cabo San Lucas has been a Blue Flag beach year after year, marking superior water quality and safety. You might be able to guess that this is a pretty popular stop, especially for families. Locals and tourists alike love Playa Chileno because of its wonderful views, quality rental equipment, and fun water-based activities. Note that motorized water rentals, such as wave runners, aren’t allowed here, but you can spend time in the water by snorkeling or swimming. There are ample parking spaces and accessible amenities and restrooms.

Playa El Medano

To get in the center of Cabo’s social scene, head to Playa El Medano. This spot is extremely popular around Spring Break but stays busy all year long. Luckily, there is more than enough room (about 2 miles of beach!) for everyone to stretch out and stake their claim on a beautiful piece of shore. The calm waters are ideal for parasailing, taking a water taxi, or renting a kayak or wave runner. Cantinas on the beach make it easy for you to stay all day, enjoying the food, drinks, and sun for hours.

Playa del Amor

Also known as “Lover’s Beach,” Playa del Amor is the perfect destination for an afternoon picnic or secluded dip with your sweetheart. You will have to take a water taxi to reach it, but it’s certainly worth the effort. You won’t find any services, but you’ll get a bit of privacy to enjoy the breathtaking views. While you’re there, go over to the neighboring Divorce Beach for an even greater experience on the Pacific. Be advised, though, that swimming on this side is not encouraged due to the rough waters.

These are just a handful of the incredible beaches in the Los Cabos area. Other popular destinations include Playa Los Cerritos, Playa Solmar, Playa Palmilla, and more. No matter which beach you pick, you’ll have access to stunning views, crystal clear water, and soft sand, perfect for an afternoon of relaxation. Are the Cabo breezes calling your name yet?
